  1. Hi Jon Harris,
I don’t do social media (Twitter, Facebook et al.) but I would like to contact you. Do you have an email address I can contact you at? I watched your recent videos with your father and brother discussing Richard M. Weaver’s book, Ideas Have Consequences, and I would like to discuss some things with you. I read the book many years ago prior to attending university as a mature student. Because of your videos I am reading it again. I have a 1948 hardcover edition of the book. I have some difficulties grasping the Introduction and first chapter of the book, but the rest is pretty straightforward for me. It’s Occam’s nominalism that I’m concerned about. I think that Christians should reject it but I don’t think Weaver’s Platonism is acceptable to Christians either so I’m searching for other sources of the problems Weaver adumbrates in terms of absolute truth. Francis Schaeffer identified this as a problem as well (I have read his Complete Works). I think Allan Bloom’s book, The Closing of the American Mind may also be instructive for us. And Neil Postman had some great insights as well.
So these are some issues I would like to take up with you. The evangelical church has been affected negatively by the things Weaver lays out in his book but he has some deficiencies from a biblical perspective that I would like to explore with you.
    Regards,
    Gary Craigs
