I have been trying to explain and work out why I’ve been discontent with our current church, and you hit the nail on the head. I’ve been getting a history course, deep expositing of a verse, but nothing in ways to apply in our daily walk. that was and is frustrating me. I want our kids in a sound church and it is one (pastor is a Master’s grad) but the application is not spelled out on Sunday at all. we walk away each Sunday like you said, a history lesson but nothing to encourage us that week.
I let my wife hear that portion and article you read and it explained my concern well.
